Avanos, with the Kızılırmak running through it, is a world famous pottery production center. There are people who have been doing this job for centuries. During pottery making, you can watch the soft clay soils coming from Avanos mountains become mud by kneading, then turn into bowls or pots by turning in a machine called the wheel. You can come to Avanos and examine this art, which still maintains its popularity; sometimes you can do it for free and sometimes for a low fee like 10 lira. The most popular place in this region is Chez Galip Pottery Workshop. You can come to the shop of Mr. Galip, who is also known as the founder of the Hair Museum, to examine the Hair Museum and to make pottery in the shop.
